Flashing his pistol down the corridor on his left, Trevor passed it and spotted the terminal. Immediately his posture changed as he trudged quickly to the console and pulled out both halves of his cyberdeck. His pistol went onto floor next to him as he crouched, undid his datajack, and plugged it in. Without waiting for Vlad, he snapped the deck together, flicked it on and entered.

Vlad arrived a few steps behind Trevor to find the Decker already plugged into the jack. The Psyker sighed and seated himself back to the wall with the Vangelus balanced on his knee. It was pointed towards the only entrance to their area. He wasn't a complete idiot. Now he just had to wait until Trevor did his Decker thing inside the Matrix.
As Trevor jacked into the Matrix, his senses went dark, one by one replaced by the senses of data inside the framework of the computer. His MPCP form was now fully loaded, signaled by the coding now scanning before his eyes.
A blinking light before him in the silvery cyberscape signaled the connection of an ICE to the system. The persona that appeared as a pretty woman in a blue dress. Her graphics were pleasant and unassertive.
"Please wait while you Identification Access Number is recorded."
The form glitched and vanished. If Trevor had a shadowrunner's config on his deck, he would not be broadcasting an IAN, and therefore none would be logged. Blue ICE was the easiest to break through.
The world around Trevor blurred and warped as his MPCP was loaded into the central nexus of the computer system. All around him, lights flickered, representing nodes of data partitioned from the others. There were six of them, each protected by its own ICE. The data they sought was in one of the six.
Trevor MPCP: 35 I/O: 25 TF/round Hardening: 3 Storage Used: 0/200 TF Status: Undetected.

The decker glanced about him. It'd been way too long since he'd done this. A month almost. And his only mission since that was being a courier boy. Dammit that had been insulting.
There really wasn't much of a way to tell where his file was, as he had no idea what the file contained. Brilliant info Vlad had passed around. And so he picked one. It was hard to say which one, as there really was no concept of direction in free space. No reference points. They could be referenced from one another, but they all looked the same so that wasn't much help.
Well, he'd never been much for simply grabbing a file without detection. Not as stealthy once inside the Matrix as he was out. But he figured he'd give it a shot. Uploading the Mask-1 program, he immediately tried to access the data contained in the node he'd chosen as an "authorised user." Failing that, which it probably would, he began uploading his Attack-1 program.
[Mask-1]: A program which inputs a series of integer passcodes attempting to randomly crack the system barriers without alerting ICE. If successful, ICE is supressed and user is treated as an authorized user within that node. If unsuccessful, ICE becomes Hostile. 10% Success chance, Program Size: 10 TF [Cost: None]
[Attack-1]: A program which sends attack inputs of malicious code into a system, attempting to crash the ICE. 3-5 Damage, Program Size: 20 TF [Cost: None]

[Skipping Vlad, because the real world is boring right now. Rawr.]
Trevor selected the data node arbitrarily labeled Node 2. As his MPCP logged into the system, he was confronted by a man in a green suit with dark glasses.
"Please enter identification number."
From the data streaming off of it, Trevor was able to determine the man represented a Level 5 Green ICE.
Trevor MPCP: 35 I/O: 25 TF/round Hardening: 3 Storage Used: 25/200 TF (90% free) Status: Undetected.

Trevor fired off the Mask-1 program at the little green man. Which essentially looked, in the Matrix, like him punching numbers into an ATM machine at the speed of light. He doubted it would work, but it was always best to give it a shot first. Besides, if this node didn't have the data, he'd have to deal with the others too.
His attack program finished loading, and he started on the Heal-2 program. All the essentials and nothing else.
[Heal-2]: A program used to restore integrity to the user's MPCP by patching over holes in the Persona and removing bugs. 3-4 MPCP, Program Size: 20 TF [Cost: 100 Nuyen]

The ICE flickered a bit as the Mask program went into effect. [And I seriously rolled a die for this. - -;; Luck sucks.]
The ICE absorbed the program's coding, assimilating it into its logs. The ICE faded away, signaling its acceptance of the fake. Yes, it actually worked.
The data within the node was then displayed as a streaming set of data for Trevor to observe. The total file size was 7 TF. The labels were as follows:
Warehouse_Development.dgm (3 TF) Transport_Routes.rst (2 TF) Schedule.rst (2 TF)
Trevor MPCP: 35 I/O: 25 TF/round Hardening: 3 Storage Used: 50/200 TF (75% free) Status: Allowed in Node 2.
Programs: Mask-1 (Loaded: 100%) Attack-1 (Loaded: 100%) Heal-2 (Loaded: 100%)

[Riiiighteous.]
The decker grunted as he scanned over the files available. For some reason he didn't seem particularly surprised or happy, but neither was he disappointed. He just carried on, business as usual.
They didn't look like anything they wanted, but he'd grab them anyway. Just so he wouldn't have to come back if he was wrong. Selecting all the files, he started their downloads immediately.
And just so we don't have to waste another post...
As soon as he was finished, he exited the node. Time to pick a new one. Staring around and the five remaining ones, he paused before selecting node 4 and entering.

Node 4 flickered into existence, as Trevor stepped through the "gates" of data. Another man in a green suit appeared, representing this node's level 5 Green ICE. Apparently, Nodes 2 and 4 had the same security level.
"Please enter your identification number."
Trevor MPCP: 35 I/O: 25 TF/round Hardening: 3 Storage Used: 57/200 TF (71.5% free) Status: Allowed in Node 2; Neutral in Node 4.

Stored Files: Warehouse_Development.dgm (3 TF) Transport_Routes.rst (2 TF) Schedule.rst (2 TF)

"Hmm..." Guth mused. He doubted the important files would have a low level ICE, but if he was right and whoever owned them was unaware of their importance then it may very well be so. He shrugged and continued on. If this node didn't have them, he'd have to check with the others until he found one with a higher security level.
Same as before, he fired off the Mask-1 program. If it worked before, it might well work again. But as he'd told Kurai, luck had never been his strong point.

This time, the Mask program attempted to alter Trevor's MPCP to a random integer password, attempting to slip past the green-suited ICE. However, a bright green barrier snapped into existence behind the ICE, and a console appeared next to the ICE, signaling a program's launch.
"Hostile intruder detected. Employing countermeasures."
The program fired at Trevor, damaging his data with malicious code. (-1 MPCP)

The Decker growled audibly in the real world. It was only a small hit, but it always annoyed him to be damaged. Since the ICE had decided to employ such measures to evict him, though, he leapt on the opportunity to assault it.
Triggering the Attack-1 program, he began the process of eroding its integrity with a short wave of his own noxious code.

The Attack program took the form of a broadsword-esque assimilation of code. It stabbed deep into the ICE, dissolving into bits of data on contact. (-3 MPCP)
The ICE barely flinched, releasing another stream of data. (-2 MPCP)
